The psalmist wrote, “…weeping may last for a night but joy comes in the morning…” Psalm 30:5. This is a great comfort when you consider the grind and stress of daily life. We are faced everyday with the greed and selfishness of our bosses and leaders, news of unthinkable wickedness and the constant disintegration of the moral fibre of society. We have to deal with the burden that the fear and guilt of our ‘secret lives’ impose on us constantly. The hope that this promise brings cannot be overstated. Equally relieving to our ‘need’ is the knowledge that “The LORD is my shepherd; I shall not want.
